The BBC Have Your Say site is currently asking the question “Should Newspapers Have The Right to Be Offensive?”

This is the most recommended comment:

Possibly recommended by people who spend their time posting comments on Have Your Say about how anything that doesn’t conform to their own world view offends them.

Actually, are these people hiring? I’d be quite good at it.

“Rar! Rar! Rar! The problem with the younger generation is that they never went through what we did! The trashing of the Blue Peter Garden was our Vietnam! Howl of Impotent Rage!”

  1. I do love idiots.

“Since New Labour came to power there has been a concerted attempt by the PC lobby to erode freedom of speech in this country. To some extent they have succeeded, especially in the areas of race and sexual orientation. It is a brave person who publicly airs un-PC views on these matters.

Freedom of speech and of the press is vital in any democracy. Would the recent expenses scandal have come to light otherwise? It is high time that these freedoms were properly reinforced in law.”

Bloody Labour, eroding free speech, and bringing in draconian legislation like the Freedom of Information Act, without which it’s certain that things like the expenses scandal – no, wait…

    • But they’re Nu LieBore! Don’t you see? Don’t you see?!?

      • No, I can’t see, I’m blinded from the truth by the ZanuLab propaganda machine.

I always think “ZanuLab” sounds like a recording studio where bad 80s ethnopop is born.
